Brown vs. board of education

FLIGHT33

The video we watched in class was about the apartheid. It was a time in America was many black people were not viewed as equal to the white people. An example of how cruel the black people were when they had to drink from a different water fountain from the white people, because the white people felt as though they were too good to eat drink behind another black person. The black people during that time weren’t allowed to vote, ride in the front or use the same bathroom. They weren't even seen as humans when there was a restroom for the white it said men and women, but when you saw the African American bathrooms you saw a different sign, it had “colored”.  During that time it was weird to see a successful black man. The reason it was so odd is because white people tried their best to keep the “black man” in the inner city. They would limit the black people by making them seem like they were less, for an example there was a major league, which was for the white. Then there was the Negro league, some black players were better than the white players in the major league but they didn't have any opportunities to present that. This related To Kill A Mockingbird from the standpoint of everyone judging “Boo” Radley. Constantly “Boo” is seen as a bad person because of the incident with his Pop. Plus he is judged because of the times he went to jail. But just like the black people in the video if you really read about “Boo” you would realize that he is thoughtful. In the book he helped fill the tree and put a coat over Scout.

GOSSIP

To Kill A Mocking Bird relates to the video we watched in class. Gossip plays a big role in both To Kill A Mocking Bird and the youtube video because once  a rumor is out its impossible to take it back. The video explained, exactly how you cant take a rumor back after its out through the example of a cut pillow. As a result of all the gossip about Author "Boo" Radley, he stoped going outside.

First, gossip plays a big role in both To Kill A Mocking Bird and the youtube video because once a rumor is out its impossible to take it back. There was a big rumor going around that Author "Boo" Radley stabbed his pops in the led with a pair of scissors. This rumor resulted in Boo Radley going to jail. He got out the same day and returned home, but the boy Boo Radley was deeply effected. He was effected because once he returned back to his crib, he did not ever seem to go outside, it was like he cut off the whole outside world.

Second, the youtube video explained exactly how you can not take a rumor back after its out, it explained it through the example of a cut pillow. The women's confession was about when she started a false rumor. To show the women what she had done, the priest made her go to her crib and cut her pillow. When she had came back from doing priest's orders he told her, now go pick every feather up that was in her pillow. That scenario did not only send message to the lady but it showed me you cant take away gossip you started about a person.

Third, as a result of all the gossip about Author "Boo" Radley, he stoped going outside. This proves my point that you cant take back rumors that are said about someone, because after the kids in To Kill A Mocking Bird try to convice Author "Boo" Radley to come outside. In fact people does not notice Author "Boo" Radley's other side, which is kind and thoughtful. An example of how Author "Boo" Radley is kind and thoughtful is when he puts a blanket over Scout wen she was cold. Author "Boo" Radley was also kind and thoughtful when he filled the knothole with cement.

In conclusion, To Kill A Mocking Bird is simular to the video we watched in class. The gossip about Author "Boo" Radley made him not come outside at all and he cut the outside world off. The youtube video explained how it is imposible to take back gossip that was spread about a person. To Kill A Mocking Bird relates to the youtube video because at the end it is proven that, a spread rumor always effects some one and can not be erased.
